Custom Fields

Depending on the nature of your campaign, you may want to collect additional data from your donors during the donation process. You can do that by adding custom fields to your donation form.

Creating/editing your custom fields.

  1. From the Dashboard, select the campaign you want to edit, then click on the Edit Campaign Button from the Campaign Overview tab.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will see the Custom Fields section. Click on the “Edit” button.
  3. Next, click on the “Add a Field” button and select the kind of field you would like to create: single text or dropdown.
  4. Make sure you hit the “Save” button before you navigate away from the page, after you are done making your changes.

How do I use the different field types?

Single line text fields are for gathering information that your donors write in their own words.

You can use dropdown selection fields if you want your donors to pick from a list of options. In the field area, add in only one option per line. They will show up as separate checkboxes on the donation page.

Use the field label to state your question or inquiry.

Accessing the data collected from the custom fields.

Any information from the custom fields will get stored in your Donation Log. When you download the log file, the data from the fields will be there along with the donation amount and the name of the individual or the organization who made the donation.

To access the log for a campaign, select it from the Dashboard, then click on the Donations tab.

Deleting custom fields.

If you need to, you can edit existing campaigns and remove custom fields that you have created. However, if any donations have been made for that campaign any data stored from the custom fields will get permanently deleted.

Before you delete any custom fields, we recommend downloading the donation log and saving it for your records.

To download your log, you can click on the Export Donation Log button, located under your campaign’s Donations tab.
