What is a widget?

According to Wikipedia a web widget is:

… a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation. Web Widget – Wikipedia

Giving Impact’s widget is a snippet of javascript code, unique to each campaign, that can be copied and added to other web pages. Once added to another web page, the widget code talks to our servers and securely provides campaign information such as the current total or target numbers as well as provides all the donor functionality of processing and sharing donations.

All these features are made available to you with only the only technical effort being including that snippet of code with your webpage(s).
